New biological WWTP under construction in Tskaltubo
Construction of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) is to be finalized at the end of the year. The project is being implemented by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia keeps on process of monitoring over the projects in Imereti Region. This time Minister Zurab Alavidze has conducted the site visit for Tskaltubo and along with the representatives of local authorities, inspected process of WWTP construction there.
From the end of the year, Tskaltubo will have the biological WWTP of modern type, through which the filtered water will be discharged into the river. Up to 9 million GEL is to be spent in the region for ecological issue addressing.
The excrements had been discharging into the river for tens of years. Implementation of the project will result in whole elimination of the issue that had been existing for many years. To date the site has been cleaned off, reinforced concrete works are being conducted and reservoirs are being arranged there.
