Environmental and Social management Framework and the Resettlement Policy Framework for the Third Regional Development Project
The proposed development objective of RDP 3 is to improve infrastructure services and institutional capacity to support the development of tourism-based economy and cultural heritage circuits in the Samtskhe-Javakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions.
The ESMF identifies a range of required environmental and social management measures that need to be taken during the planning, design, and construction and operation phases of RDP III, in order to ensure compliance with the national legislation and the World Bank’s safeguard policies.
The RPF takes into account the approaches and policies for land acquisition and resettlement required by the Government of Georgia and the World Bank, and best international practices.
