More 10 IDP households to be provided with housing within House in Village Project
Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia (MRA) Sozar Subari and Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDF) Juansher Burchuladze visited today the part of those IDP households in Samegrelo to whom the residential houses had been delivered with the ownership right under “The House in the Village” Project.
Household of Bondo Tsaava consisting of 4 family members has received the residential house along with the agricultural land plot covering 2.5 ha in Senaki with the financial support of German Credit Bank of Development (KfW), whereas the household of Revaz Asartia comprising of three family members has accepted the house together with 3.5 ha land plot in Village Teklati. This household owns 20 families of bees, representing an additional source of income for them. The residential house along with 1.5 ha land plot was acquired also for Mamuka Chumburidze’s household, comprising of 6 family members.
MDF in cooperation with KfW has implemented many projects within long term housing arrangements of IDPs with KfW funding. Rehabilitation and construction works were executed for the apartments in Tskaltubo (23 apartments), Kutaisi (25 apartments), Poti (112 apartments) and Zugdidi (320 apartments). There were purchased also the houses for 61 IDP households in West Georgia within the “House in the Village” Project. As Juansher Burchuladze has stated the Fund designated remainder 100 thousand EUR for purchasing of houses. According to Minister Subari this sum will provide additional 11 households with housing.
