Public discussion was held on water resources management issue

Today in Holiday Inn public discussion was held on water resources management issues. Meeting was organized by USAIDG4G and ISET partnership. Public discussion was attended by government representatives, MDF executive director Juansher Burchuladze and head of donor’s relations and project management unit Tengiz Gogotishvili.   

Head of MDF donor’s relations and projects management unit Tengiz Gogotishvili spoke regarding water supply system rehabilitation project in 24 towns of Georgia implemented by MDF with European Investment Bank financial support. Aim of the project is to provide population with 24 hour water supply. 

Misallocation was one of the issues of discussion. Today mentioned issues have been discussed between representatives of ministry of agriculture, ministry of energy, ministry of environment and natural resources protection, MDF and United Water Company representatives and president of international economic school Erik Livni. Public discussion was also attended by business sector representatives and experts.

Based on the water consumption case study results of 2014 by USAID G4G significance of close cooperation between different offices became obvious. 

Meanwhile increase of hydro energy and agriculture sectors is planned by government of Georgia as a result more water consumption will be required.
