Rehabilitation of Tskaltubo is in final phase
Municipal Development Fund of Georgia is implementing entire rehabilitation of town Tskaltubo by World Bank financing. Total cost of the project amounts to GEL 40.68 million. MDF executive director Juansher Burchuladze, World Bank sustainable development program coordinator in South Caucasus Ahmed Aiveida and Tskaltubo Gamgebeli Konstantine Mamiseishvili attended work progress on project final details. MDF implements 9 infrastructural project in Tskaltubo among them 7 are already finalized and 2 are ongoing.
Monitoring process revealed that due to negligence part of finalized infrastructural projects are damaged, in particular lamps, benches in central park, plants mini golf ground and litter bins, based on fund order damaged infrastructure will be recovered, though it has to be noted that damage recovery takes place for the second time. We ask population to take care of infrastructure arranged exactly for them, it is a responsibility of each citizen preserve and maintain rehabilitated town.
During visit in Tskaltubo working meeting was held were resort’s future development was discussed.
It is significant that as a result of Tskaltubo rehabilitation touring infrastructure will be arranged. Consequently convenient conditions for touring development will be promoted. Following objects will be improved: infrastructural services related to touring centers and institutional facilities, development of local small and medium business (guest houses, shops, cafes, and etc.) which will improve social and economic conditions. Rehabilitation project will promote functioning of Balneology resort and will be the step forward for town development, which will recover its status of being leading resort.
Within the framework of town rehabilitation place for activities such as mini golf ground, tennis courts with showers, children’s playgrounds, flower pixels and gardens were arranged on central park territory also shelters during rainy weather (2 passages) , decorative pools, dancing fountains, outdoor café, and 4 bicycle parking areas. Paths upraised from ground level are arranged on entire territory.
Within the framework of rehabilitation one of the significant projects was entire arrangement of Lake Tsivi territory, accordingly following small size touring buildings were constructed: café and pier, boat dock, swimming pools with required infrastructure, bungalow, 2 pedestrian bridges and water supply and gas supply networks were installed. Lake diversion channels were rehabilitated and cleaned from sedimentary ground and 2 hydro system were arranged.
Furthermore irrigation network was arranged on Lake Tsivi and central park territory and greenery was cleaned and renovated. Sewerage system of central part of Tskaltubo was also rehabilitated. Water supply network was arranged adjacent to new objects to Lake Tsivi and central park territory. Rehabilitation works of theatre is already finalized: façade was entirely renovated, central entrance and stairs were arranged with monolithic reinforcement constructions, faced with granite tiles, roofed with shit metal and granite paving around theatre was recovered.
Meanwhile railway rehabilitation is in progress. After finalization of internal and external repair works of the station first floor of the building will be designated to resort management office. 10 bridges were constructed and repaired which were faced, paved and decorated with artistic railings and mosaics, old fountain was fully rehabilitated, and decorative elements were recovered and installed.
After entire rehabilitation of Tskaltubo, former police building in the center of the town will be occupied by municipality council. Rehabilitation works of gamgeoba building is finalized in particular: façade and internal wall processing, building roofing with shit metal tiles, laminate parquet, installation of heating system, arrangement of frontons on façade with modeled elements. Main clock of the town will be installed on top of rehabilitated Gamgeoba building. Following was arranged adjacent to Gamgeoba building: external lightings, and municipal transport waiting pavilions.
External lighting system is significant in resort rehabilitation project. For lighting circle road, central park and lake Tsivi adjacent territory totally following was utilized: 716 different type of posts on reinforced foundation,1170 different type of lightings including 276 for paths and 13 for decoration-underwater lightings, 6 power distribution boards with switches and photorelay. Totally 31336 high quality cable was used for outdoor lighting installation. Within the frame of rehabilitation bicycle lines and car parking areas were arranged.
